1. Look for advice before advocacy. A credible partner is not afraid to ask what you expect from Plus and whether standard Shopify could be the right fit for now. We explore the limitations with you and look for the simplest approach that meets your requirements, rather than treating Plus as the only solution.
2. Ask for proof, not just platform badges. Seek out work similar to what you are trying to achieve: replatforming, UX, complex storefront development, systems integration, regional rollout or ongoing optimisation. Confirm which team did the work and what evidence is public. We will be upfront if it is our first time tackling your challenge. The only way to get your second Global-e project is to land your first one, and a partner that will grow with you may still be the right fit.
3. Get to know the team, and who owns what. Meet the people you will be working with, not just the salesperson at the door. A clear scope of work identifies who owns what: data, content, design, development, integrations, SEO, QA, launch decisions and post-launch support across merchant, agency and third-party teams.
4. Choose platform-focused, maintainable solutions. No one wants to message their agency for every small change. B2B, multi-market and checkout ideas should be validated against what Shopify can achieve today with your architecture. B2B alone was once reason enough to upgrade to Plus, before its rollout to other plans. We want Plus to feel like the right next step when you make the leap.
5. Know what happens after launch. The window after launch is when you iron out what only becomes evident once you start trading on the new site. Discuss how performance, accessibility, early customer feedback and operational requirements will be handled after go-live, and how your team will run the store with the tech team there for support.
Prosper Digital brings strategy, UX and Shopify development into one connected team. Shopify's public Partner Directory lists Prosper as a Platinum Partner, a partner since October 2017, with studios in Sydney and Melbourne. We use discovery to decide whether that combined model fits your team, brief and decision stage.
