Shopify Markets: the lowdown
October 27, 2021
In September 2021, Shopify unveiled Shopify Markets, stating the update ‘helps remove the complexity of international commerce and empowers independent merchants to sell to consumers around the world’. So what does it involve—and what does it mean for your business?
Shopify Markets is a centralised hub within Shopify Settings. It provides businesses with tools to manage their website across international markets within the one Shopify dashboard. If you’ve been thinking of expanding your business globally, but haven’t known where to start, look no further: it offers an easy-to-use, streamlined answer to a whole knot of complicated questions.
Why Shopify Markets?
Well, selling outside of your country or region can be daunting. This solution includes a bunch of configurable tools, such as international price books, currency conversion, language localisation, local payment methods, duty and import tax, market-specific product availability, and local domains with automatic SEO. Detailed market analytics help to forecast demand according to location or region, while customisable options help to boost buyer confidence and loyalty by tailoring the browsing experience according to local needs.
This allows businesses to execute an international strategy from a single storefront, providing a unified dashboard from which to oversee their entire business. In short: it’s a clean, powerful option for selling internationally.
